NOTIFICATION
As per the provisions of Section 19 (1) and 19 (2) of the Right to Information Act. 2005 it has been decided to prescribe a set procedure for appeals with the appointment of specific appellate authority at each level to consider appeals preferred against decisions of the Central Public Information Officers concerned.
2. It is notified that the appeals against the decisions of the following nominated CPIOs would lie with Appellate Authority mentioned against them.
3. It may be noted that as per the provision of Section 19(3), a second appeal against the decision taken by the appellate authority shall lie with the Central Information Commission.
4. It is further notified that as per the provision of Section 7 (8) of the Act, where a request has been rejected by the CPIO the following shall be communicated to the person making the request; (i) the reasons for rejection citing the specific provision of the RTI Act applied; (ii) the period within which an appeal against such rejection may be preferred (30 days); and (iii) particulars of the appellate authority as per the instant notification as applicable.
This is in supersession of this office notification of even number dated 27th Sept. 05.

NOTIFICATION
Further to the Notification of even number dated 7th March 2006 regarding a set procedure for appeals with the appointment of specific appellate authority at each level to consider appeals preferred against decisions of the Central Public Information Officers concerned.
2. It is hereby notified that the appeals against the decisions of the Dy. Director General (Technology) nominated Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) would lie with Member (O & M) Postal Services Board. The CPIOs and Appellate Authority mentioned in the above mentioned notification would remain the same.
