  • 1. Why do I see different prices for the same service?
    Price of the service offered depend on the destination for delivery.
  • 2. How do I prepare my article before sending out for delivery?
    Your article should be properly packed and sealed.
    You have to paste the postage label on the packed article.Please ensure the proper pasting of postage label to avoid any misplacement.
    In case of more then one article.Seperate postage label as per details provided have to be pasted on each article.
    Please insure the Details on the postage label pasted are clearly visible to ensure smooth acceptance of the article at post office.
  • 3. How do I know my booking has been confirmed?
    You will get the SMS after acceptance of the article at Post Office on the number provided by you in Sender's Mobile Number details at the time of booking.
  • 4. Is it necessary to have an account to book a mail?
    You can do mail booking simply by providing just your Article information along with sender and receiver details. While it is not necessary to have an account to do mail booking, it is recommended that you create one. By creating your own IndiaPost account, you can enjoy a personalized experience, including your transaction history, a self maintained adressbook and various options to manage your mails which include cancellation,recall and redirection of booked article,Resceduling or cancelling the article pickup for the pickup Request service.
  • 5. When and how can I cancel an order?
    You can cancel the booking only before the article is inducted at post office.Cancellation Service is provided only if you have booked the article through your registered account.To cancel your mail go to Home>>Menu>>Mailservices>>ManageMail>>Cancel Booked Mail.
  • 6. When and how can I recall my booked article?
    You can recall article at any stage before the article is delivered or assigned to postman for delivery to the Recipient.You can recall the article from your registered account through which Booking has been done.Home>>Menu>>Mail Services>>Manage Mail>>Recall Mail.
  • 7. When and how Can I redirect the mail to other Address?
    You can redirect your article to a different Recipient Address at any stage before the article is delivered or assigned to postman for delivery to the Recipient.You can redirect the article from your registered account through which Booking has been done.Home>>Menu>>Mail Services>>Manage Mail>>Redirect Mail.
  • 8. When and how Can I reschedule my Pickup Appointment?
    You can reschedule the pickup before the booking is assigned to postman for PickUp.You can reschedule the pickup from your registered account through which Booking has been done.Home>>Menu>>Mail Services>>PickUp Request>>Request for Pick Up Rescheduling.
  • 9. When and how Can I cancel my Pickup?
    You can cancel the pickup before the booking is assigned to postman for PickUp.You can cancel the pickup from your registered account through which Booking has been done.Home>>Menu>>Mail Services>>PickUp Request>>Cancel PickUp.
  • 10. Can I provide the different Address to Return the article if not delivered?
    You are provided with the option of Return Address at the time of Booking.You can keep the Return Address same as your sender Address or can provide the different Address.
  • 11. What's Not Allowed?
    Anything which is sent in contravention of any enactment for the time being in force.
    Any indecent or obscene printing, painting, photograph, lithograph, engraving, book or card, or any other indecent or obscene articles.
    Any letter, postcard, newspaper, packet or parcel having on it or on the cover thereof, any words, marks or design of an indecent, obscene, seditious, scurrilous threatening, or grossly offensive nature.
    Any explosive, inflammable, dangerous, filthy, noxious or deleterious substance.
    Any Living creatures or other thing which is either noxious or likely to injure postal article in course of transmission by post or any officer.
    Tickets proposal or advertisement or any other matter relating to a lottery except to the lottery organized or authorized by Government.
    Gold coins or bullion or both of a value exceeding Rs. 20,000/-.
